How Does It Work?
The Power of Low Frequency
SoundSleep for Babies™, uses an exclusive processing of low frequencies (intra-uterine sounds) taken from within the body to provide the deep, safe, underwater effect of an actual womb. This safe sonic environment - captured in the Sound Sleep for Babies CD is based on bio-acoustic sounds that simulate the newborn's actual aural experience of the intra-uterine flow of fluids in the womb. We add to that the mother's breathing, mother's singing voice, and rested heartbeat. All rendered in real time to create the child's original experience of relaxing, sleep inducing sounds.
The SoundSleep for Babies CD simulates the organic sounds what an infant actually hears and feels in the womb. Using the Womb Effect™ technology, recordings of the mother's heartbeat and amniotic fluid from inside the womb are taken during the 3rd trimester of pregnancy, and then processed - using high quality digital technology. This method replicates how they sounded to the baby while immersed in water inside the womb.
Layered over the top of this "bio-bed" of sound is an ambient soundtrack composed by two highly-respected musicians/composers. The music itself is carefully constructed to change over time, thereby quickly "lulling" the baby to sleep.
This specialized ambient soundtrack is created with a series of low-pitched Indonesian Gamelan tones, chosen for their well known calming properties.
What is the formula that makes the Sound Sleep for Babies CD work so well?
Aside from the carefully crafted "bio-audio" womb simulation, the SoundSleep for Babies CD contains a highly specialized music soundtrack, designed by industry veterans specifically to induce a feeling of profound calm to the listener (adults and infants alike).

The music is designed to initially attract the baby's attention with the use of soothing wind chime sounds, mother's singing voice, mother's breathing, and a melody played in a gentle "rocking" motion. This greatly helps to distract your baby from any fussiness s/he may be experiencing.
THEN, the music begins to unwind itself, like a slow clock. The pace becomes slower, and the high-pitched sounds begin to fade away. This is the process that lulls the baby to sleep.
Now, the womb effect begins to fade up... ever so slowly. In fact, it takes a carefully-planned 7 minutes for the audio to transition from soothing ambient sounds, to deep womb sleep sounds. From there, the sound remains "womb-like" for exactly 57 minutes. The CD ends with a long, slow fade out (several minutes long). The fade is so gradual that even the lightest sleeper doesn't notice it. Setting your CD player on "repeat" is highly advisable, and when it starts over, the music again fades up slowly so your baby can stay in this blissful slumber, even through the night. The timing of our CD has been carefully tested to work perfectly within a baby's own natural sleep cycle which averages at about 50 minutes.
